While Whitney has had the great pleasure of having some time off, Josh has been hard at work in his 5th week of flight training. He recently finished the "Contacts" portion of flight training which involved academics (aka ground school), simulators (flying simulated flights in hi-tech simulators), and flights. Josh has especially enjoyed the acrobatic aspects of his flights- Whitney would prefer to hear about some of the things he has done 20 years from now (i.e. "spinning" which means he allows the airplane to lose control and spin down towards the earth and then all of a sudden recovers and begins flying up again). He has had many 12-14 hour days lately but he continues to smile through it all and it just shows how glad he is for the career path he has chosen (and more importantly that God has chosen for him).
For the next week Josh will have "duty" or "watch" most days - he will be waiting to start up the next phase of flight training during this time while the school allots some time for weather delays or for people to catch up and continue on with their respective class of students.
September 15 Josh will begin the "Instruments" phase of flight school- more to come on that subject :)
Thanks for reading!
Love to all :)
