Bark Parks and Beaches

Although dogs are not allowed on Pensacola's white, sandy beaches, the city did create a gated dog beach and bark park just for the pups in the area. Teddy seems to think the city hired him as the official gatekeeper of the beach. While Teddy is not much of a "water dog", he loves the dog beach! He finds it especially fun to sit at the gate of the park and greet all new and entering dogs- or maybe it's actually the dog owners he greets, as Teddy seems to have more of an interest in the other people in the park than the dogs. As soon as we got the the beach the second time this weekend, he crawled right into a random man's lap and rested his chin on his knee. He also had a lot of fun patiently sitting in front of people on the benches with a "sad puppy dog look" as if to say "will you take me home? my Mom and Dad don't give me enough treats"

(Teddy soaking wet and unhappy after running to me and not realizing that he couldn't walk on water!)

(his first dip in the water)

(he was shivering and Josh felt bad for him)

(At home surrounding himself with toys)

We may like the bark park and beach more than Teddy does - a tired dog is a good dog!

(Trying to lure Teddy into the water a second time- unsuccessfully)
