Living

We have been a happy busy lately.  I have wanted to blog but then I think to myself- well, I could just be living life instead of writing about it (and then not having as much time to live it!)  I enjoy blogging (when I have the time), but it seems lately there just isn't spare time laying around ;).

Cameron is 9.5 months old now and a busy boy.  He finds much greater delight in non-toy items (like nightlights, power cords, and shoes) than any of the wonderful toys he has.  He slithers across the floor on his belly and can get just about anywhere he'd like to go without lifting his belly up off of the floor.  Many of his mornings are spent following Teddy around while dusting the floor with his belly.  Teddy loves the attention.  If any kind of paper gets near Cameron, his attention is diverted!  He LOVES paper.  He is finding more and more ways each day to light up our lives.

Cameron is a long and lean little guy!  We have been overcoming some challenges with making sure he puts enough weight on- sometimes successfully and other times not so successfully.  One thing is clear- Cameron loves food!  He's just not that into his beverages ;).

Josh has been keeping busy at work upgrading to become a tactics officer.  He will be very busy studying the next few months.  He has also been enjoying early morning basketball games on Tuesday mornings, golfing once a week, and coming home to us each day!

I have been trying to keep up with my running.  The key to motherhood and running successfully, I am learning, is to not plan on my routine ever staying the same each week- and being okay with that rather than letting it get me down!  Some other things I am enjoying lately are: www.mint.com, finding tasty non-dairy recipes for the cheese lover in me, devotional times with good morning girls (www.goodmorninggirls.org), reading "gospel-centered family" with Josh (highly recommend it!  Brief, but great conversation starters), making new and interesting recipes for Cameron and the family, and just playing with Cam!

Here are two recipes we have REALLY enjoyed lately:
Flax carrot apple muffins (we adapted this a little) http://blog.superhealthykids.com/2010/04/flax-carrot-apple-muffins/
Filling Whole grain waffles: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/whole-grain-waffles/

Well, that's about all I have time for right now!  We hope you and yours are doing great!
